Bundled with the soundtrack the purchase is worth the asking price for that alone, for the cost of a London pint you have no excuse not to pick this up!

Minmaxing in Mists of Pandaria: Talents

The Talent Trees of World of Warcraft are sacred ground. Small changes to a single talent can affect the way hardcore players and theorycrafters approach their entire build. For years, the ideal spec has always been debated en masse due to the complexity of so many talents within the three specs available to any class. But as of the upcoming Mists of Pandaria expansion, WoW players may find that this no longer matters as much.

As of Mists of Pandaria, there will no longer be a talent tree – instead, players will choose one of three new talents in each of the six ranks of the new Talent system. Each new rank is unlocked every fifteen levels, so players hitting level 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and Mists of Pandaria’s new level 90 cap will have a single new choice outside the talents offered to them via their spec, which are now mostly bought talents rather than Talent-Tree-gained.

What does it mean for hardcore players? Less theory and more fun, hopefully. For casuals? Those who are happy to just play, level, do a few arena matches in between work, sleep, going out or playing Partypoker? Not much – if anything, it actually makes the game more casual-friendly, something which the hardcore WoW fans may not enjoy so much.

But if you are a hardcore player, it’s worth thinking about the fact that Blizzard are simply trying to streamline the game and allow you to focus less on minmaxing and more on the other aspects of the game. If number-crunching is your thing, however, there’s a whole new five levels and all the gear and stats that goes with that to take a closer look at when Mists of Pandaria launches (as beta numbers may not stay the same up until launch day), so they can soothe themselves with the knowledge that WoW is still, at the end of the day, a numbers game at the hardcore level, if they want it to be.

Skyrim official map app released FREE

Bethesda has just released, for free I might add a Skyrim map app for iOS devices.

Mass! Effect! 3! Demo! I have played!111

The demo to the eagerly awaiting climax of the Mass Effect trilogy hits on the 14th of Feb, but someone was just lucky enough to get early access!

The demo includes the first 15 minutes of the singleplayer campaign and a level from later in the game too, aswell as a bit of multiplayer shenanigans. The EA servers are down at the moment so the only thing I’ve had access to is the singleplayer part, and wow, Bioware have hit the sweet spot!

The demo kicks off at the start of the Reapers invasion of the known galaxy, and their first target is Earth! Shepard is on Earth after facing trial for the murder of 300,000 Batarians, which was played out in the Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2. He is grounded and without a ship. After a dramatic intro Shepard along with Anderson are quickly thrown into a frantic battle for survival as the Reapers blast anything in sight! A race of life and death ensue’s as the duo make their way to the Normandy.

Mass Effect was a great looking launch title, Mass Effect 2 was a phenomenal looking game and Mass Effect 3 once again has raised the bar. Visuals are crisp and strong, all running at a very stable frame rate. Controls are more responsive and tighter than ever! Which is great as you only start with a Pistol so it’s all about how fast you can tap that trigger. The score set by Clint Mansell is astounding, you are taken from the highs of battle to the lows of loss in just the first 15 minutes.

If you like the series then make sure you set aside abit of time of Valentines Day as this is something you do not want to miss! Now roll on March 9th is all I can say, and hit me up on LIVE for some multiplayer action! GT NuTtEhJaWa
